Title: Here
Tag: 4x4: Metamorphosis
Characters: Sam and Dean
Fandom: Supernatural
Prompt: #25: "Yearn" for [info]spn_30snapshots
Summary: "You were gone. I was here."

Sam's earnest defense of his powers when Dean confronted him about exorcising demons always gets to me, but it's that phrase that kills me every time. I think it encompasses how Sam got to be the way he is, the yearning he had for Dean, and the reasons for why he's fighting for his powers. Death happens. Dean couldn't handle it when it was Sam. That phrase is the result of Sam coping when it was Dean.

I'm not sure I did the emotions justice, but it was Friday the 13th and I wanted to post. ;)

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Economics hates me. British Literature tolerates me.

I got a bad grade on my Econ. midterm and endured a half hour of the professor getting angry at our class. But hey, at least I'm not alone, right? There are three sections of Economics--all of us practically failed. Our section's average? 66.6% Ominous? I think so. And our section's average was the high. We were the ones who at least had some brilliant person (the one and only) get a 95%. Ugh. Extra credit, here I come.

Brit. Lit. wasn't quite so bad, but it wasn't as happy as I expected, particularly after getting such a bad grade on the other test.

And then there's an Epistemology test tomorrow! Yippee. (Note the sarcasm.)

Fall break is this weekend. Four days of happiness and joy. *crawls toward weekend* Pleeeease get theeeere.

I can't believe I'm doing this--but yeah. Thirty fics, thirty snapshots into the hunting life. It's from [info]spn_30snapshots. I'm using table 1: Elemental for my prompts. Wish me luck.

Title: Chores
Characters: Sam/Jess, Dean
Fandom: Supernatural
Summary: Jess had filled in the details, but Dean had built the foundation.

Finally, finally, I come bearing Supernatural fic. I have a couple pieces I'm working on, but they're hard to finish. In fact, this whole genre is intimidating--I've read some really awesome stuff out there--and the characters and their issues are pretty darn complex. Hence, my salivating over Kripke's storyline (in the same way I salivate over the boys' faces).

But I did manage to finish this. I love Sam/Jess with an intense love.

The college life:

Took Epistemology test this morning. Wrote two essays for 1 1/2 hours straight. Dealt with hand cramp. Ran to Music App. class to take stupid quiz. Probably failed stupid quiz (hello, priorities--Epistemology test trumps Music quiz). Will practice piano and perform for class tonight. Then will flee campus in getaway car with roommate in tow to terrorize shop at Target and Walmart.

Thank the heavens for chocolate and lungs for screaming. How else does the college student survive?

P.S. Saw "Heart" (Supernatural). Sam is pretty. And hot. Pretty hot.

Woot! Awesome date, so I thought I should post. Besides, I haven't written in a while and I wouldn't want my blog to feel useless. It's sensitive like that.

Since I'm back at school, me and the roommate are getting hit up with our Supernatural addiction again. Feels sooo good to watch the boys in action after a long summer of silence. Plus, we've got some of the wingmates on a SamnDean kick too--we had 5 girls crammed on a bed to watch the Winchesters on a little laptop. Next episode for us is "Playthings." (Yeah, we're still in Season 2.) Imaginary friends sounds awesome and creepy--so excited to watch it.

Saw Star Trek the other day.

(Yeah, me = totally behind the times. Meh.)

Missed the first 15 minutes or so, which I think threw me off. I kept waiting for the main plot to start...and then the movie ended. And I checked my watch and was stunned to find that it was 2 hours later. Confusing, I know. How in the world do I like a movie but still feel that most of my questions were avoided or unanswered? No clue. I mean, what, Winona Ryder's a major Trekkie and just had to be in the movie, even if it was for 5 minutes? And it wasn't weird for Spock to have Old!Spock just running around on Earth? And no one else had a problem with that either?

I have to watch it again, from the very beginning, to figure out what I missed. All in all, I did like it. Non-stop action from start to finish. I mean, who needs a plot with that anyways? Doesn't matter if Winona Ryder bites the dust within 5 minutes, so long as it's cool dust-biting, right?

Watched Jared Padalecki in "Thomas Kinkade's Christmas Cottage" last night. (Yes, I realize it's June. Still, it's almost six months exactly from Christmas, so I figured I was justified.) Very cute, fun to watch, and tugs on the heartstrings--oh wait, you meant the movie? Right, right, the plot. Um, there was one, but I kept getting distracted by the Padapuppy's big smile and soupy eyes. Okay, fine, besides him, the movie was good, but I'm a sucker for Christmas movies of almost any sort. Give me people walking around in a small snowy town, all bundled up with beanies and scarves, and I'm set. Plus, Jared is adorable.

Almost finished with C.S. Lewis's "Till We Have Faces". I've always heard it's a book I should read, so I finally got down to it. The cover of the book is very cool (I've got the one with what looks like Cupid/angel/boy with wings coming down from the sky). I get so distracted by the feathers. The writing style is very different from what I've read of Lewis in his other fiction works (Narnia, Screwtape, Hideous Strength), and I thought it was neat that he was able to write from the female perspective so well. The book is slightly depressing, but thought-provoking. Makes me look at my relationships in a new light. All in all, I'm glad to have (almost) read it, and I'm sure it's one I'll turn to again. I appreciate the questions it's brought up and the lessons it's marked out, but it's not a book that I'll turn to for some light reading in the future. Like most Lewis books, it's one that I'll open up if I need some guidance.

So me and my friend survived our roadtrip. Made the drive from Seattle to California with no casualties and only one ticket (which was received at 6:45 AM, not even an hour after we'd left Seattle). Hit San Francisco on the way down, saw breakdancers on the street, rode  trolleys, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge twice (on accident), and only had to flip one person off (nasty old man who decided to do strange things with his tongue to us). I drove for the first time in a year for 2 1/2 hours through Grant's Pass in the rain. Booyah.

Checking out twitter. Can't seem to figure out what it's for. Although Misha Collins on his twitter is hilarious (and slightly insane). I have no idea what he twitters about half the time, but I'm sure he'd be an awesome person to hang with for a day.

Going to see The Proposal in a few minutes. Better get decent.

So originally I had thought I would use Livejournal as a place to post some fanfiction. Silly, because I already have a place to post my fanfiction on fanfiction.net. I admit it: I really just wanted a pretty looking Livejournal. But what to use it for?

I guess I'm just going to be blogging, sharing observations both astute and random, and going off my rocker about the strange things that happen to me. Yeah, there are strange things that happen. Like that one time I actually entered a stranger's house while trying to do a good deed and put their dog back in the house--except I wasn't sure if it was their dog. And no one was home.

So, here come the adventures. Fasten your seatbelts.

The roadtrip begins on Wednesday. (For reals.)

Alright, I admit it, I deliberately abstained from watching it in theaters because I didn't want to be associated with the squealing throngs of fangirls. Is it wrong to not want to be pelted with popcorn every time the fifteen year old next to you goes into shock when Edward Cullen appears on screen? I didn't think so. So I waited until "Twilight" could be rented and then watched it in the safety of my room--no popcorn-toting fangirls, just me and a few friends ready to laugh our heads off at the corny lines, unnecessary slow-motion shots, and the way Bella and Edward stare longingly into each other's eyes for no reason at all.

And if I had seen it in a theater, I probably would have accidentally spilled popcorn over my fellow movie-watchers too--just because I couldn't have contained the laughter. )
